Welcome from
the chairs
Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the 5th International Online Conference on Animals (IOCAN2026), organized by MDPI's open access journal Animals (ISSN: 2076-2615; Impact Factor: 3.2). This year's conference will be held online from 22 to 24 March 2027.

On behalf of the Conference Chairs of IOCAN 2027, we are delighted to invite you to participate in this significant event. IOCAN 2027 will bring together researchers, veterinarians, industry experts, and policymakers from across the globe to exchange innovative ideas, present cutting-edge research, and explore sustainable solutions for the future of animal health and production. The conference will focus on major global challenges, including climate change, animal welfare, declining genetic diversity, emerging diseases, sustainable production, and environmental pressures.

The main sessions of the conference are as follows:
S1. Sustainable Animal Welfare, Ethics and Human–Animal Interactions;
S2. One Health: Improve Disease Manifestation and Management in Animals, Humans, and the Environment;
S3. Sustainable Animal Nutrition;
S4. Animal Physiology, Reproduction, and Sustainable Animal Production;
S5. Aquaculture Systems and Production Strategies in Asia;
S6. Smart Technologies for Sustainable Animal Systems in Europe;
S7. Animal Genomics and Genetic Improvement in the Americas.

A distinctive feature of IOCAN 2027 is its strong regional perspective, with three dedicated sessions focusing on Asia, Europe, and the Americas. These regions were selected because of their broad and highly active contributions to the corresponding research fields, as well as their diverse production systems, management strategies, and technological innovations. By highlighting these major research regions, the conference aims to encourage wider international exchange, promote cross-regional collaboration, and provide deeper insights into both shared and region-specific challenges in sustainable animal science.

As an online event, IOCAN 2027 offers the flexibility to participate conveniently from anywhere in the world, without the need for travel.

We sincerely hope you will join us for this exciting international event and contribute to the global dialogue shaping the future of sustainable animal science.

Kind regards,
Conference Chairs
