Asymmetric methoxyselenenylation of α,b-unsatured carbonyl derivatives

Abstract: In this communication we propose a convenient methodology to effect asymmetric methoxyselenenylation of a,b-unsatured carbonyl derivatives using as electrophilic reagents an optically pure sulfur containing selenenyl chloride. Mechanistic aspects of the reaction were investigated and simple manipulation to prepare optically pure derivatives are reported.
