Dr. Yunping Qiu received his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008, China. He worked as a Postdoc and research scientist at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Currently, Dr. Qiu is a Research Associate Professor at the department of medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also serves as Operations Manager for the stable isotope and metabolomics core facility under the Albert Einstein-Mount Sinai Diabetes Research Center. His research interests include the method development for mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and metabolic flux protocols, and the understanding of metabolic variations associated with diabetes, cancers, infectious diseases, as well as the metabolic interactions with immune responses. Dr. Qiu co-authored more than 100 papers in the metabolomics field.

Cecília R.C. Calado: Coordinating professor with Aggregation at the Lisbon School of Engineering (ISEL – Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa), Polytechnic University of Lisbon. Coordinator of the Section of Bioengineering of the Chemical Engineering Department, Coordinator of the R&D Laboratory in Health Bioengineering, and Coordinator of the MSc course in Biomedical Engineering. Integrated member of the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB), The Associate Laboratory Institute for Health and Bioeconomy–i4HB-IST. Presents an aggregation in Biochemistry (2022), PhD (2003) and MSc (1998) in Biotechnology, and a 5 years licenciatura degree in Biochemistry (1995). Presents a broad R&D experience in “Bioprocess Engineering”, and “Drugs and biomarkers discovery”. Supervised more than 100 students, including PhD, MSc and BSc students. PI. or co-P.I. of projects financed by FCT, ADI, and IPL. Coordinated a Team on the CoHiTec – 2012 Program and team member that won a EIT Digital Venture Program 2020.
