Welcome from the Chair

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce The 1st International Online Conference on Children's Health, which will be held virtually from 17 to 19 November 2026 and is organized by the MDPI open access journal Children (ISSN 2227-9067 , Impact Factor 2.1).

Conference Overview
This international event will highlight cutting-edge research and developments across a broad spectrum of pediatric disciplines. The conference aims to present the current state of the field, address pressing challenges, explore emerging opportunities, and discuss future directions in pediatric care and science. It will provide a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas, discussion of controversies, and cultivation of global collaboration.

Key Themes
We invite scientists, clinicians, researchers, and professionals in pediatric medicine to share their work related to, but not limited to, the following topics

- Mental Health;
- Neonatology;
- Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Disorders;
- Orthopedics and Sports Medicine;
- Dentistry and Oral Medicine.

Conference Format
All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the conference committee. Following the event, participants will be invited to submit a proceedings paper to Medical Sciences Forum journal. Selected contributions will be considered for publication in the journal Children (ISSN: 2227-9067; Impact Factor: 2.1), ranked Q2 in Pediatrics (69/186) and Pediatrics, Perinatology and Child Health by Cite Score (95/342; CiteScore: 3.8).

Valentina Lucia La Rosa, PhD, is a postdoc researcher in Developmental and Educational Psychology at the University of Catania, Italy. She has extensive experience in quantitative methods, systematic reviews, and applied research in educational and health-related contexts. Prof. Bianca WEINSTOCK-GUTTMAN is a Professor of Neurology whose clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive care of adults and children with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating disorders of the central nervous system. She is the Director of the Jacobs Multiple Sclerosis Center for Treatment and Research at UBMD Neurology, which provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic care supported by a multidisciplinary team. She also directs the Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis Center of Buffalo, one of the original Centers of Excellence designated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and serves as Executive Director of the New York State Multiple Sclerosis Consortium, one of the largest MS registries in the United States.

Erich has a strong interest in all neuromuscular conditions and in particular in cerebral palsy (CP). In 2009/2010 he worked as a research fellow in the Hugh Williamson Gait Laboratory at RCH on a major project “Outcomes of Single-event Multilevel Surgery (SEMLS)” in children with CP. Erich focuses on the surgical treatment of disabled, ambulant and non-ambulant, children. His surgical expertise is in both surgery for ambulant children (SEMLS) and one-stage, hip reconstruction.

Prof. Simona Tecco is enabled as Full Professor in Dentistry (A.S.N. MIUR 2023). She is Associate Professor at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milano (Italy). In 1999, She was graduated in Dentistry at the University G.D 'Annunzio, Chieti/Pescara, and obtained the Orthodontic Specialization Degree at the University “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in Rome, in 2006. She obtained the PhD degree in “Dental Science” in 2003, with “excellent”, and a second PhD degree in “Physiology of mastication and dental materials” taken at the University of Torino. On 2015 She was graduated at the Master in “Orthodontics”, University Tor Vergata, Rome. She is actually Teacher in Orthognatodontics at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan. She is component of the Editorial Board of various Journals. She is an active member of Digital Dentistry Society, and Certified Speaker. She is author of many researchers and articles in the field of Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Gnathology.

Dr. Teresa Quattrin is a Pediatric Endocrinologist and Diabetologist, UB Distinguished Professor, Associate Dean for Research Integration, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. During the years 2007-2017 she served as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Pediatrician in Chief of the Oishei Children’s Hospital, Chief of Pediatric Service for Kaleida Health and CEO of UBMD Pediatrics. Dr. Quattrin is an internationally renowned physician-scientist who has received continuous funding from federal, state agencies and foundations to pursue her investigator initiated and pharma sponsored research in growth disorders and growth factors, obesity and type 1 diabetes, with a focus on preventing/halting progression of the beta cell demise. She serves as a reviewer for several national and international journals, the National Institutes of Health, Scientific and Technical Review Committee for the Canada Biomedical Research Fund, the Italian Ministry of Health, the Diabetes Research Office of the United Kingdom, the Diabetes Clinical Trials Network in Ireland and . Throughout her career, Dr. Quattrin has been recognized for her passion for innovation, clinical-translational research and named numerous times among the “Best Doctors in America” for her excellence in patient care.

The registration for IOCCH 2026 will be free of charge! The registration includes attendance to all conference sessions.

If you are registering several people under the same registration, please do not use the same email address for each person, but their individual university email addresses. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note that the submission and registration are two separate parts. Only scholars who registered can receive a link to access the conference live streaming.

The deadline for registration is 12 November 2026.

Instructions for Authors

Procedure for Submission
IOCCH 2026 will accept abstracts only. The accepted abstracts will be available online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference.

An abstract acceptance email only confirms that your abstract has been accepted. Oral or poster presentation invitations are determined separately by the conference chairs, and you will receive an additional email with the presentation result.
Abstract Submission
If you do not have an account, please register at www.sciforum.net. After logging in, submit your abstract using the "Submit Abstract" button on the conference homepage. No template is required.

Abstract Requirements

  1. Types of Submissions
    - Accepted: Original research abstracts; systematic reviews or meta-analyses abstracts(must comply with PRISMA 2020).
    - Not accepted: Narrative, scoping, comparative, perspective, opinion, or essay-style reviews

  2. Content Requirements
    - Length: 200–300 words
    - Structure: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions
    - Language: Clear, publication-ready English
    - Originality: Must be original and unpublished; previously published abstracts will not be considered

  3. Authorship
    - The submitting author must ensure all co-authors approve the content.
    - Authors may submit multiple abstracts, but only one abstract per author may be selected for an oral presentation.

Oral Presentation and Slides Submission

The slot for the oral presentation is 15 mins. We advise that your presentation lasts for a maximum of 12 mins, leaving at least 3 mins for the Q&A session.
Authors are encouraged to prepare a presentation in PowerPoint or similar software, to be displayed online along with the abstract. Slides, if available, will be displayed directly on the website using the proprietary slide viewer at Sciforum.net. Slides can be prepared in exactly the same way as for any traditional conference where research results are presented. Slides should be converted to PDF format prior to submission so that they can be converted for online display.

Poster Presentation
- Should include the title, authors, contact details and main research findings, as well as tables, figures and graphs where necessary.
- Size in pixel: 1080 width x 1536 height–portrait orientation.
- Size in cm: 38,1 width x 54,2 height–portrait orientation.
- Font size: ≥16.

Potential Conflicts of Interest

It is the authors' responsibility to identify and declare any personal circumstances or interests that may be perceived as inappropriately influencing the representation or interpretation of clinical research. If there is no conflict, please state "The authors declare no conflicts of interest." This should be conveyed in a separate "Conflict of Interest" statement preceding the "Acknowledgments" and "References" sections at the end of the manuscript. Any financial support for the study must be fully disclosed in the "Acknowledgments" section.

Publication Opportunities

  1. Children Journal Publication
    Participants in this conference are cordially invited to contribute a full manuscript to the conference's Special Issue (to be announced), published in Children (ISSN: 2227-9067, Impact Factor 2.1), with a 20% discount on the publication fee. Please note that if you have IOAP/association discounts, conference discounts will be combined with IOAP/association discounts. Conference discounts cannot be combined with reviewer vouchers. All submitted papers will undergo MDPI’s standard peer-review procedure. The abstracts should be cited and noted on the first page of the paper.

  2. Proceeding Paper Publication
    All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference report of IOCCH2026 in Medical Sciences Forum (ISSN: 2673-9992); if you wish to publish an extended proceeding paper (4-8 pages), please submit it to the same journal after the conference.

    Authors are asked to disclose that it is a proceeding paper of the IOCCH2026 conference paper in their cover letter. Carefully read the rules outlined in the 'Instructions for Authors' on the journal’s website and ensure that your submission adheres to these guidelines.

    Proceedings submission deadline: 4 January 2027.

    Manuscripts for the proceedings issue must be formatted as follows:

    - Affiliations (including full postal address) and authors' e-mail addresses;
