Introduction
Bio
Pr. Matthieu Chauvat is a French soil ecologist specializing in soil biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. He is a full professor at the University of Rouen Normandy since 2016. His work focuses on the role of soil fauna—particularly microarthropods—in decomposition processes, nutrient cycling, and plant–soil interactions. He is especially interested in how global change drivers, such as  biological invasions, and climate change, affect soil communities and ecosystem processes. Through experimental and field-based approaches, his research contributes to a better understanding of the interactions taking place belowground between soil biodiversity and plants with consequences on ecosystem functioning.
