Welcome from the Chair

To celebrate the International Day of Mathematics 2024, MDPI is launching a special webinar to encourage researchers to join together, take action, and raise awareness as to how the exchange of findings facilitates efforts to explain the essential role that mathematics play in breakthroughs in all areas.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you at the International Day of Mathematics Webinar 2024. Please find below an up-to-date outline of the webinar.

Introduction
Bio
Professor Tomasz Brzezinski is mathematician and mathematical physicist with a position at the University of Swansea, Wales and University of Białystok, Poland. Large part of his work is concerned with Algebra (in particular studies of various algebraic structures such as rings, modules, corings, comodules, Hopf algebras etc.), Noncommutative Geometry (both algebraic and differential, with particular emphasis on symmetry aspects), Category Theory and some aspects of Mathematical Physics (quantum groups, integrable systems). Professor Brzezinski is the author or co-author of a monograph and over 110 papers (written with approximately 45 co-authors). The revival and significant development of the theory of corings (new AMS classification category has been created for corings and comodules as a result of this activity) is perhaps the most notable achievement of his research programme.
