Welcome to Artificial Intelligence: Theories and applications for education and working life, our first webinar offered by Trends in Higher Education
As the title indicates, the webinar will focus on AI and how we can effectively use it in our higher education environments. Speaking with us on this timely issue are four experts in this area (in order of presentation):
Professor Jimmy Jaldemark is the head of the subject of Education at Mid Sweden University. He has worked at the Department of Education for over 25 years. Over these years, he has focused on developing and researching distance education settings. His research activities include studies of AI, computer-mediated communication, distance education, educational technology, game-based learning, higher education, lifelong learning, mobile learning, networked learning, professional development, technology-enhanced learning, and work-integrated learning. He is also the founder of the research group Higher Education and E-Learning (HEEL).
Marcia Håkansson Lindqvist is an Associate Professor in Pedagogy affiliated with Higher Education and E-Learning (HEEL) and the Center for Research on Economic Relationships (CER). Her research focuses on learning, teaching and leading with digital technologies, lifelong learning, and technology-enhanced learning. Her area of instruction lies within teacher education and school improvement.
Peter Mozelius is an Associate Professor and Researcher working at the Department of Education at the Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall, Sweden. His research interests are technology-enhanced learning, game-based learning, lifelong learning, AI in education, and programming education. Peter also teaches courses on scientific writing and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Martha Cleveland-Innes is a Professor in Open, Digital, and Distance Education at Athabasca University. She co-authored several open source publications: The Guide to Blended Learning (2018), Participant Experience in an Inquiry-Based Massive Open Online Course (2022), and Principles of Blended Learning (2024).

Increasing Staff Understanding and Competence in AI and Technology-Enhanced Learning

Implementing Generative AI
Peter Mozelius is an Associate Professor and Researcher, working at the Department of Education at the Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall, Sweden. His research interests are in the fields of Technology enhanced learning, Game-based learning, Lifelong learning, AI in education and Programming education. Peter teaches in courses on scientific writing and in courses on artificial intelligence.
