Welcome from the Chair

The Electronic Conferences on Synthetic Organic Chemistry (ECSOC) is a series of conferences that have been held online since 1997. Originally an initiative of MDPI, it was later integrated with the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. ECSOC now stands as the longest-running electronic conference in the world, maintaining its commitment to free participation and registration in the true spirit of open access.

This year, the conference will cover a wide range of topics in synthetic organic chemistry, including, but not limited to the following:
Session 1: General Organic Synthesis;
Session 2: Chemistry of Bioorganics, Medicinal and Natural Products;
Session 3: Design and Application of Organic/Supramolecular Assemblies;
Session 4: Physical Organic Chemistry.

ECSOC-30 offers researchers the opportunity to participate in an international scholarly conference without the concerns or costs of travel. The conference is entirely free—both to attend and for scholars to upload and present their latest work on the conference platform.

We look forward to your participation in ECSOC-30 and to your valuable contributions to another successful edition of this pioneering electronic conference.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Prof. Dr. Julio A. Seijas
Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, Spain

Instructions for Authors

Procedure for Submission

ECSOC-30 will accept both abstracts and full manuscripts. Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be eligible to proceed with full manuscript submission. All accepted full manuscripts will be published online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference.

Please note that the Certificate of Participation will be provided only to participants whose full papers have been accepted.

Important Deadlines

1. Abstract Submission Deadline: 1 July 2026.
2. Abstract Acceptance Notification: 10 August 2026.
3. Full-File Submission Deadline: 15 September 2026.
4. Full-File Acceptance Notification: 16 October 2026.

Step 1: Abstract Submission
Abstract submissions should be completed online by registering with www.sciforum.net and using the "Submit Abstract" function once logged into the system. No physical template is necessary.

1. The abstracts structure should include the introduction, methods, results, and conclusions sections of about 200–250 words in length.
2. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear, publication-ready English with accurate grammar and spelling.
3. The abstracts submitted to this conference must be original and novel, without prior publication in any journals or it will not be accepted to this conference.
4. Each author is permitted to submit no more than 5 abstracts.
5. The submitting author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of the contents of the abstract.
6. We will only accept articles and comprehensive reviews.

Note: We request for institutional email addresses to be used, especially for the corresponding author. Please submit the abstract with the institutional email address — submissions with the email addresses like gmail.com, 163.com, hotmail.com, qq.com etc. will not be reviewed.

Step 2: Full File Submission
Once the abstract has been accepted, the author is requested to submit their manuscript (short proceedings paper, 4–8 pages) before the full-file submission deadline of 15 September 2026. The authors who submitted will be notified the acceptance of the full-file by 16 October 2026.

You can submit the full paper by accessing "My Submission". The content of the full manuscript must align with the originally submitted abstract. Accepted abstracts that do not receive a corresponding full manuscript by the deadline will be withdrawn by the editors. After the conference, all accpetd proceedings paper will be
assigned a DOI upon publication in the MDPI Chemistry Proceedings journal (ISSN 2673-4583). Please carefully read the rules outlined in the "Instructions for Authors" on the journal’s website and ensure that your submission adheres to these guidelines.

Manuscripts of the proceedings must have the following elements:
• Title;
• Full author names;
• Affiliations (including full postal address) and authors' e-mail addresses;
• Abstract;
• Keywords;
• Introduction;
• Methods;
• Results and Discussion;
• Conclusions;
• Acknowledgements;

[ECSOC-30] LaTeX-template.zip

Note: To supplement their manuscripts, authors of accepted papers will have the option to submit a poster, a short video presentation (max. 3–5 minutes) and/or a slide presentation (in PDF) as supporting material for the paper. However, posters or videos are complements to the full file submission and cannot be presented alone.

More Details Regarding Supplementary Materials:

1. Poster Presentation
Replacing a live poster session, all participants have the opportunity to upload and display their research in the form of a poster at the “Poster Gallery” page on the conference website. Please be advised that there will be no "Live" poster presentation. The poster template can be downloaded HERE.
To maintain consistency and for consideration of the “Best Presentation Award”, please adhere to the poster format below:

Poster should include the title, authors, contact details, and main research findings, as well as tables, figures, and graphs where necessary.
Size in cm: 60 width x 80 height–portrait orientation.
Font size: ≥20.
Maximum size: 250.

2. Video Presentation
Authors are also encouraged to submit video presentations after acceptance of their full manuscripts, which will be displayed on the conference website along with your full files.
To maintain consistency and for consideration of the “Best Presentation Award”, please adhere to the requirements below:
The video should be no longer than 3-5 minutes.
The video should be prepared with one of the following formats: .mp4 / .webm / .ogg (max size: 250Mb).

3. Presentation Slides
Authors can prepare a presentation in PowerPoint or similar software, to be displayed online along with the manuscript. Slides can be prepared the same way as for any traditional conference. They should be converted to PDF format before submission.

Potential Conflicts of Interest

It is the author's responsibility to identify and declare any personal circumstances or interests that may be perceived as inappropriately influencing the representation or interpretation of clinical research. If there is no conflict, please state "The authors declare no conflicts of interest." This should be conveyed in a separate "Conflict of Interest" statement preceding the "Acknowledgments" and "References" sections at the end of the manuscript. Any financial support for the study must be fully disclosed in the "Acknowledgments" section.

Copyright

MDPI, the publisher of the Sciforum.net platform, is an open access publisher. We believe authors should retain the copyright to their scholarly works. Hence, by submitting an abstract to this conference, you retain the copyright to the work, but you grant MDPI the non-exclusive right to publish this abstract online on the Sciforum.net platform. This means you can easily submit your full paper (with the abstract) to any scientific journal at a later stage and transfer the copyright to its publisher if required.

Publication Opportunities

1. Molecules Journal Publication
Participants in this conference are cordially invited to contribute a full manuscript to a Special Issue (to be updated) published in Molecules (ISSN: 1420-3049, IF: 4.6, CiteScore: 8.6) after conference, with a 20% discount on the Article Processing Charges (APC). Please note, if you have IOAP/association discounts, conference discounts will be combined with IOAP/association discounts. Conference discounts cannot be combined with reviewer vouchers. All submitted papers will undergo MDPI’s standard peer-review procedure. The abstracts should be cited and noted on the first page of the paper.

2. Chemistry Proceedings Publication
When your full manuscript (4–8 pages) is accepted, your proceedings paper will be published with DOI in the MDPI Chemistry Proceedings journal (ISSN: 2673-4583) for free. Please Carefully read the rules outlined in the 'Instructions for Authors' on the journal’s website and ensure that your submission adheres to these guidelines. Please note that acceptance at the conference does not ensure final publication.
