2nd Standards Webinar
“Sustainable Development Standards – State-of-the-Art and Future Development ”, Series of Lectures in Celebration of 54th World Standards Day
Immediate, rapid, and large-scale reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, respect for human rights, and realistic action plans must be set and realized by 2030 according to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We must strengthen our efforts towards carbon neutrality and social cohesion. Laws, rules, and obligatory standards must direct people that are not able to change their behaviors and habits. We do not have enough international and national standards to control ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investments towards Net Zero. Companies are required to follow complex rules, collect relevant data, document their efforts, and report to all their stakeholders and the public. The journal Standards has decided to provide an overview about the state of the art of Sustainable Development Standards, which will evaluate their coverage and quality as well as propose what must be done in the near future. Standards could become a coordination platform for future development of sustainability standards. Welcome to the Webinar on this topic!
