Abstract:

The outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has caused a catastrophe in the modern world. This virus is readily mutated into new variants and is continuing to infect countless people. With significant efforts from the medicine and scientific communities, vaccines have been invented and millions of people have been administered by the same. Despite the vaccines, there are still many who continue to get infected. The aftermath of the viral infection is noticeable in the human body. Vital organs like lungs, heart, kidney, brain, etc. show signs of damage within people who have already recovered from COVID-19. These damages can be termed as long-term effects of SARS-CoV-2. People with pre-existing cardiovascular conditions were marked to be higher risk individuals for COVID-19. Although, the disease is primarily a respiratory tract infection, the previously healthy patients had shown signs of cardiovascular diseases and myocardial damage. The patients continue to live with this and it became an after-effect of COVID-19 disease.

Natural products and herbal medicine has been the source of cure of various alignments over the years. Scriptures of traditional medicines and practices in the folklore medicines have put forward countless medicinally important herbs. Various natural products can be identified as cardiovascular friendly and they can be used when it comes to healing the cardiovascular system from the damage caused by COVID-19. The efficacy of herbal medicines can be increased greatly if they can be administered in the form of targeted drug delivery. One such innovative method is by loading natural products in nanoparticles and administering it with the help of nanorobots to ensure targeted delivery. They can be proven to be comparatively risk-free with little or no side effects; therefore, becoming a perfect solution to this relatively-new problem.
