Welcome to this Author Training session, designed specifically for PhD students, Early Academic Career staff, and mid-career colleagues. This event offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your skills, particularly in the critical area of peer reviewing for academic journals. Peer review is a cornerstone of academic publishing, and understanding its nuances not only improves your own research but also strengthens the broader academic community. Bio
Dr. Ding is an associate professor with more than ten years of experience instereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), intensity modulation radiationtherapy (IMRT), imaged guided radiation therapy (IGRT), respiratory-gatedimaging and radiation therapy, treatment planning and normal tissue sparing.He is a medical physicist and director of the IGRT lab at the Department ofRadiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences and Carnegie Center ofSurgical Innovation, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. For morethan ten years, he has developed novel deformable image registration (DIR)algorithms and co-organized the MICCAI EMPIRE study for lung imageregistration. He worked as co-investigator on an NCI R01 award to guideradiation therapy using integrated (cone beam CT) CBCT and roboticultrasound for soft tissue targets such as tumors in liver, pancreas andprostate, and an NIBIB R21 award to image and evaluate the brain necrosisinduced by RT for glioblastoma with MR. Dr. Ding is currently a principalinvestigator on an NCI R37/R01 MERIT grant to develop biodegradablehydrogel implantation to spare normal tissue in CBCT-guided SBRT forpancreatic cancer. During the last five years, his lab has published theirresults in the top journals such as Gastroenterology, International Journal ofRadiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, Radiotherapy and Oncology, and IEEETransactions on Medical Imaging. He is the editor of the special issue ofRadiation Therapy for Pancreatic Cancer in Cancers journal.

Bio
Andjela joined MDPI in November 2019. She holds a BSc degree in Physics and is currently working on a master's thesis in Engineering/Project Management. She has been working as an Assistant Editor and Section Managing Editor for the journal Sensors and recently began her role as a JRS for the same journal. In addition to her editorial work, she also works as a Group Leader for Section 1 and Section Mechanical Engineering for Serbia offices from September 2022.

Vera joined MDPI in April 2022. She holds a Master's degree in Chemistry Education and Teaching Methodology and is currently a PhD student at the same chair, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She has been working as an Assistant Editor and Section Managing Editor for the journal Sensors and recently began her role as a JRS for the same journal. In addition to her editorial work, she also works as a Training Assistant, striving to support and assist her colleagues from Section 1. Vera approaches her work with a positive attitude, aiming to help the team achieve its goals efficiently and professionally.
