Welcome from the Chairs

Dear Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to participate in the 3rd International Online Conference on Polymers Science—Polymer science and technology: when progress meets sustainability and reliability (IOCPS 2025), sponsored by the MDPI open access journal Polymers (ISSN 2073-4360; IF: 4.7). The meeting is an opportunity for researchers in polymer science and technology to present their research and exchange ideas with colleagues. This is an online conference, removing the need to travel and eliminating participation expenses while still maintaining a rigorous selection of scientific contributions and, at the same time, ensuring the possibility for visibility for your own research.
The conference will be organized around the following general topics, providing a forum for presenting and discussing new results. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Sustainability in Polymer Science and Technology;
2. Polymer Analysis and Characterization;
3. Polymer Applications;
4. Polymer Composites and Nanocomposites;
5. Polymer Physics and Theory.

This will be an online conference held on Sciforum, a platform developed and sponsored by MDPI to organize and provide technical support for online conferences, from 19 to 21 November 2025.

A number of free live-streaming sessions will be held during the conference, including talks from invited speakers. These live sessions will also contain a Q&A section to answer questions from a live online audience.

All accepted abstracts and posters will be published in Proceedings (ISSN: 2504-3900). Please check the section ‘Instructions for Authors’ for a detailed description of how to submit your contribution to the conference.

All conference participants will be encouraged to submit a full manuscript to the Special Issue published in Polymers, with a 20% discount on the article processing charge. Conference Papers submitted to the Special Issue must have been extended by at least 50%, and will undergo the standard peer-review process of the journal.

The best oral presentation and best poster will receive an award of CHF 300.

We look forward to engaging in exciting discussions and hearing new ideas and perspectives from experts in the field. All participants are welcome to attend the online conference.

Kind regards,
Prof. Dr. Giulio Malucelli
Prof. Dr. Francesco Paolo La Mantia

Session Chair

Prof. Dr. Fahmi Zairi

Civil Engineering and Geo-Environmental Laboratory (ULR 4515 LGCgE), Lille University, 59000 Lille, France

Introduction
Research Keywords
Mechanics of soft materials (polymers and biological tissues); multi-scale approach; multi-physics approach; constitutive modeling; experimental characterization.
Biography
Fahmi Zaïri, currently serving as a Full Professor at the University of Lille in France since September 2014, is an expert in the mechanics of soft materials, including polymers and biological tissues. His expertise extends to the multiscale and multiphysics modeling of these materials. His research is particularly focused on establishing the structure-property relationships in soft materials through a synergistic approach that integrates experimental and modeling techniques. He completed his educational journey at the University of Lille, where he earned his Ph.D. in Mechanics of Materials in 2004 and later achieved his Habilitation in the same field in 2012. His academic career at the University of Lille progressed from an Assistant Professor position starting in September 2005, to Associate Professor by mid-2012, before reaching his current full professorship. Over the course of his career, Professor Zaïri has published more than 140 papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He has also been instrumental in mentoring and guiding the academic and professional paths of over 30 Ph.D. students. He advanced international research programs and maintains a broad network of international collaborations. In addition to his academic achievements, he actively collaborates with industrial partners, fostering joint publications and driving the practical application of his research.

Registration

The registration for IOCPS 2025 will be free of charge! The registration includes attendance to all conference sessions.

When registering with several people under the same registration, please do not use the same email address for each person, but their individual university email addresses. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note that the submission and registration are two separate parts. Only scholars who registered can receive a link to access the conference live streaming. The deadline for registration is 14 November 2025.
