Dear Colleagues,
MDPI would like to invite all of the Guest Editors who are recognized experts in their field to attend the 5th MDPI Guest Editor Club (MGEC 2023). This forum intends to highlight exciting topics in a comprehensive but efficient manner to allow GEs from all over the world to present their experience and discuss their achievements.
The GE Club will bring together a group of multi-disciplinary Guest Editors from all over the world to present and exchange breakthrough ideas on Special Issue developments. We have, therefore, put together this platform, which will be looking after your interactions with the journal, leading you through the most important aspects of the role and what you can expect from the process of editing a Special Issue. We are pleased to provide an excellent opportunity to all the brilliant Guest Editors to propose and develop new approaches, exchange perspectives and encourage new lines of research.
We will record the lectures, with prior agreement of the lecturers, and deposit them in our online database. We will continue to build this database with brief introductions and summaries of topics and open an online discussion group for each GE. We hope that this event is of interest to you, and we welcome you to join us at this forum.

Meet Our Speakers
Prof. Dr. Yona Keisari (Keyzerman)
Prof. Emeritus, Department of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology
Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel, Chief Scientific Officer, Alpha Tau Medical LTD, Jerusalem, Israel;
Prof. Keisari holds an M.Sc. in Microbiology and Immunology and a Ph.D. in Immunology from Tel Aviv University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute of the NIH (USA).
Prof. Keisari co-authored 107 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings, ten review articles, eight chapters in books and monographs, edited four books and special issues and has seven patent applications. He serves as an editorial board member in nine journals.
Prof. Keisari is a member of seven national and international professional societies. He served as secretary and president of the Israeli Society for Cancer Research (2011-15), and as treasurer of the International Cancer Microenvironment Society since 2015.
Held a variety of management positions at the Tel Aviv University, in national and international professional societies, and granting agencies.
His research is devoted to two main topics: a) Cancer immunotherapy of malignant tumors, and b) Innate immunity to lung infections.
Dr. Maria Fotiou
Journal Relations Specialist, MDPI;
Dr. Maria Fotiou has a BSc and MSc in Food Science and Technology and received her PhD (2018) in Human Nutrition from the Aristotle University of Thassaloniki, Greece. She joined MDPI in June 2020 as an Assistant Editor for Nutrients and has been working as Special Issue Editor for the same journal since January 2021. She was appointed Publishing Manager of Nutraceuticals in March 2022. Currently, she is the Journal Relations Specialist of Nutraceuticals.
Mr. Rhys Pumphrey
Journal Relations Specialist, MDPI;
Rhys Pumphrey obtained his MEng in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Manchester in 2021. He joined MDPI as an Assistant Editor for the Materials journal the same year. In September 2022, he became a Section Managing Editor, and he is currently the Journal Relations Specialist for Materials.
