Welcome from the Chair

Dear colleagues, distinguished agronomists,

The overall picture of the world's agricultural systems is one of a growing imbalance between the availability and demand for land and water resources. This has important implications for local and national food self-sufficiency and for the livelihoods of rural communities. Intensive agricultural practices associated with previous productivity increases have been accompanied by the severe degradation of ecosystem services. The risks associated with population pressure and intensification, both on-farm and downstream, are expected to persist and worsen if no measures are adopted to counteract this trend. This is a major challenge for the sustainability of agriculture.

The 3rd International Electronic Conference on Agronomy (IECAG 2023) will be held on October 15‒30, 2023, organised by Agronomy in cooperation with related open access journals (Agriculture, Plants, and Horticulturae) of the academic open access publisher MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute).

While discussing research breakthroughs, novel technologies, and new ideas, academics, scientists, scholars, and professionals devoted to agronomic science from around the world will exchange and share their experiences and results, discuss the practical challenges encountered and sustainable solutions adopted, and create opportunities to establish business or research relations and find global partners for future collaborations. It is anticipated that a broad range of research and applied topics will be covered during the conference in six-session events. They include plant parasite control, innovation in agro-ecology, efficient use of nutrients and water, digital agriculture, plant improvement methods, and crop management in horticulture and floriculture.

The scope of IECAG 2023 on Agronomy is to cover the whole breadth of agronomy research and provide a forum for presenting and discussing new results. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

It is our great pleasure to invite academics, scientists, and experts to contribute to and participate in this conference as a great opportunity to communicate their shared passion for agronomy.

Best regards,
Dr. Gianni Bellocchi

Instructions for Authors

Submission Information

The authors should submit submissions online by logging in IECAG2023.sciforum.net and using the “Submit Abstract” function once logged into the system.

  1. Scholars interested in participating in the conference can submit their abstract (about 200–250 words covering the areas of manuscripts for the proceedings issue) online at this website up to 10 July 2023 1 August 2023.
  2. The conference committee will conduct a pre-evaluation, based on the submitted abstract, of whether the contribution from the authors of the abstract will be welcome for the 3rd international electronic conference on agronomy. All authors will be notified by 31 July 2023 15 August 2023 about the acceptance of their abstract.
  3. If the abstract is accepted for this conference, the author will be asked to submit a minimum of one of the following: a proceedings paper (3-6 pages), a poster, a slides presentation (in PDF), or a short video presentation (max. 3–5 minutes). This should be ready by the submission deadline of 28th August 2023 10 September 2023. If you submit a proceedings paper, you need to upload the Word and PDF versions in Original files (zip/word) and Manuscript PDF, respectively. If you choose to submit a poster, a slides presentation (in PDF), or a short video presentation (max. 3–5 minutes), please submit the abstract in Word and PDF format in Original files (zip/word) and Manuscript PDF, respectively. Presentations Slides

Authors are encouraged to prepare a presentation in PowerPoint or similar software to be displayed online along with the Manuscript. Slides, if available, will be displayed directly on the website using Sciforum.net's proprietary slides viewer. Slides can be prepared in exactly the same way as for any traditional conference where research results can be presented. Slides should be converted to PDF format before submission so that our process can easily and automatically convert them for online display.

Video Presentations

Authors are also encouraged to submit video presentations. This is a unique way of presenting your paper and discussing it with peers worldwide. The video should be no longer than 3-5 minutes and prepared with one of the following formats: .mp4 / .webm / .ogg (max size: 250Mb). It should be submitted with the full manuscript before 28 August 2023.

Posters will be available on this conference website during and after the event. As with papers presented on the conference, participants will be able to ask questions and make comments about the posters. Posters can be presented without an accompanying proceedings paper.

After acceptance, please upload a copy of the proceedings/abstract as a PDF and Word document, in the corresponding fields, and upload the Poster PDF in the field "Presentation PDF (optional)".

1)The poster should be in PDF format
2)The minimum size for images is 148 mm × 210 mm (horizontal × vertical) at 300 dpi.
3)The content of the poster should be a comprehensive presentation of your accepted submission.
4) There should be no copyright issues with any elements in the poster.
For detailed instructions on how to submit a poster, please contact us.
Potential Conflicts of Interest

It is the author’s responsibility to identify and declare any personal circumstances or interests that may be perceived as inappropriately influencing the representation or interpretation of clinical research. If there is no conflict, please state here “The authors declare no conflict of interest”.
